‘Benign conspiracy’ over assisted death There is a benign conspiracy between police, the legal system and the Victorian government not to prosecute doctors who assist terminally ill patients to die, a Dying With Dignity rally has been told. Dr Rodney Syme, vice-president of Dying With Dignity Victoria, said on Tuesday that he gave advice and medication to journalist Steve Guest who ended his life by using the banned barbiturate drug Nembutal.
